Oui je me parle à moi-même. L’article, j’y viens.

English version

Winter is here ! The season of snowflakes, big cozy plaid, hot chocolate and fireplace has arrived ! Winter has the distinction of being a season that we love or we hate. Personally, I love this time of the year, with all these decorations and Christmas lights! In my opinion, this is the most magical time of the year. Even if I’m not a big fan of skiing and this helmet that compresses the head, the sweater that scrapes, the mittens that stink, the queue with the ski lift (you know what I mean), I love the snow. This particular atmosphere, these white landscapes, this pure mountain air.

Well, we understand that you enjoy winter, you’re hurling your article now ?! Yes it was a free speech. Yes I speak to myself. The article, here we are.

If you are still one of those people who don’t like the mountains, take advantage of it, it will not last long. After this article, you will change your mind, I promise !

For an extraordinary experience, in the middle of nowhere, facing the expanse of mountains, rendez-vous at:

Chetzeron Hotel, Crans-Montana, Switzerland

In this winter weekend, I got a surprise from my lovely boyfriend. But where are we going? He didn’t give me any clue, but I was going to find out soon.

Direction Crans-Montana, in Switzerland, near a parking where our special shuttle was waiting for us to come. So by « shuttle », one must understand « 4×4-ultra-all-terrain-towards-the-infinite-and-beyond-space-mountain ». If you don’t mind, we will keep the « shuttle » term for the rest of the article, writing time matters you know. So we embark on this shuttle to climb the mountain. At that moment, I still didn’t know where I was going to set foot.

After 20 long minutes in the 4×4 to climb the mountain, between mud, crevices and bumps, we finally arrive at our destination.

And there, magic operates. We were facing a sublime stone building, with nothing on the horizon, except the mountains. It’s sumptuous, breathtaking.

Welcome to Chetzeron Hotel !

Upon arrival in the lobby, we realize the size of the building. Or rather of its height. A huge glass window to the ceiling height offers us an exceptional panorama. The decoration, a mixture of wood, stone and felted colors, plunges us directly into the intimate world of Chetzeron. Sofas and large armchairs are installed, between fireplace and library. Everything is made to feel in a cozy nest, where each space is inspired by the heart of the mountain.

The decoration, a mixture of wood, stone and felted colors, plunges us directly into the intimate world of Chetzeron.

The welcome is irreproachable, it feels like home. We are directed to our room. Small anecdote, each room, 16 in total, is named after a nearby summit !

I push the door of our winter cocoon and I discover paradise on earth.

A beautiful room with a bay window over the entire length. It’s like being outside, in the middle of the mountain. So much light, panorama, you feel alone in the world ! An incredible feeling that I had never experienced before in a hotel experience.

The wall that separates the bathroom to the bedroom is made of wood and glass. The decoration, like the rest of the hotel, is delicate, sought after and super cozy. The bedding is great, the room is clean. A bunk is installed along the bay window to enjoy the view and being well installed at the same time !

The sunset is coming soon, we take a walk to discover the beautiful Chetzeron in every corner !

The restaurant / breakfast room welcomes this huge glass window over the entire panorama. I don’t smoke, but I still entered the smoker to admire the decoration. Lounge and chic atmosphere, and as a floor: a window overlooking the wine cellar of the hotel ! Gorgeous !

Direction now the terrace of the hotel, with its incredible view of the mountains. There are waiting chairs, hammocks and ski cabin on the ground. We are spoiled for choice to settle in and enjoy the panorama and the mountain air. We opt for the hammocks, which, with the swaying, makes us feel at the top of the world.

Full of photos and 82653 snapchats after, we head for the wellness area: sauna and hammam are waiting for you, just to relax after a day of skiing (or in my case: after an after-ski with a hot chocolat I mean). The wellness area is small but enough for a full enjoy. A heated outdoor pool is also available, on the roof, facing the mountains, but unfortunately out of order during our stay. The opportunity to come back soon !

We had the chance to see a beautiful sunset, just breathtaking. Blue, pink, fire: a unique sight over the mountains.

The day ends, we are completely captivated by the charm of the hotel Chetzeron. The next day, we will have breakfast, a mix of buffet and table service with excellent fresh and varied products, for all tastes !

We descend from the mountain with the « 4×4-ultra-all-terrain-towards-the-infinite-and-beyond-space-mountain » shuttle, but one thing is certain: we won’t come down from our dreamy cloud that fast.

Thank you to the Chetzeron team for the incredible hospitality and exceptional hotel experience !
